Cosmetic surgery has been around for decades and is just as common as going to the dentist anymore. Cosmetic surgery patients are desiring a different appearance for their body. Sometimes, cosmetic surgery is used for changing the shape of the body such as a breast augmentation or a nose job. Sometimes surgery is the option when the patients want to restore their appearance such as a neck or eye lift.
There are many types of cosmetic surgery. The most popular types are the following:
- Lipoplasty is a surgical procedure where fat is suctioned off of your body. Some refer to this as a body sculpting procedure where you take the extra pounds off of specific areas of your body. Since it is invasive, you will need recovery time of a few days before returning to work.
- Breast implants is a highly popular cosmetic surgery. Doctors insert saline pouches either under the muscles on your chest or between the muscle and the breast tissue. This is an invasive surgery that will take weeks for recovery.
- Rhinoplasty changes the shape of your nose by molding the cartilage and bone. This surgery will take some time for recovery. Most patients experience bruising and swelling which can last from days to weeks.
- Eyelid surgeries are popular among those patients who find that, with aging, the eyelids can droop. This gives a tired appearance. There are other patients who opt for eyelid surgery for other reasons, but it is mainly for appearance.
- An easy, non-invasive cosmetic procedure that is highly popular are Botox treatments. Botox acts as a filler and smooths out the facial lines and creases, giving the patient a more youthful appearance. The patient may experience some swelling at the injection site, but that is normally the extent of the recovery.
Although there are many other types of cosmetic surgery on the market, the ones listed above tend are highly sought after by both men and women.
